DEMONSTRATION OF A TYPICAL PRODUCTION PROCESS

The graphic on the left has been greatly simplified, but illustrates the main features of a typical production system designed by Drytech Processing.

You will find more detailed information about the stages of the process by clicking the buttons around the page. Start at the Wax conveyor.

Key:

, , and are mould plates, complete with wax patterns fitted, at various stages of production.

and are slurry tanks, containing slurry of differing composition.

are stucco applicators which apply stucco of differing composition.

In brief, the production process entails the application of slurry to wax patterns, followed by stucco, with an inter-coat drying process. Coats are built up on the patterns, using the appropriate mixes of slurry and stucco, according to a computer program, which controls each workpiece individually.

In a typical installation, each batch would consist of 20 patterns, with the final drier having sufficient capacity to accommodate two batches. This allows for the simultaneous production of three batches, the third batch being processed through the wax conveyor and robot program while the first and second batches are progressing through the final drier.

For simplicity, only three workpieces are shown in this illustration.
