The barrel slurry mixer comprises a driven roller and a free running roller mounted on a table, and suitably positioned to rotate two 18 litre standard polypropylene barrels. The table and enclosure panels are manufactured from mild steel and together with the hollow section support frame are powder coated after manufacture and fitted with adjustable stainless steel feet to allow leveling and height adjustment. The barrel support rollers are manufactured from rubber coated mild steel to ensure traction. The rollers are supported in light weight aluminum plummer blocks for quiet, maintenance free operation. The drive unit is a light weight aluminum geared motor mounted directly onto the front roller shaft. The gearbox is sealed for life and maintenance free. The drive motor is inverter controlled to give a wide mixing speed range suitable for a variety of materials. The inverter and electrical control components are installed in a small enclosure mounted below the table top. Switches and the speed setting control are fitted on the enclosure door to allow easy access. For safety the rollers and barrels are completely covered when mixing. Access to the barrels is via a double hinged door on the front of the unit which is fitted with an electrical safety interlock to prevent operation of the rollers with the door open. Larger capacity floor mounted barrel mixers can be supplied to meet customer requirements.
